5 Questions With Whalers Brewery

Have you been to Whalers Brewery? If not I would highly suggest checking them out asap! Located in South Kingstown they truly are a hidden gem in Rhode Island. What sets this brewery apart is not only the outstanding beer but the 6000 square foot space they are located… featuring 2 pool tables, 2 corn hole sets, and giant Jenga. The best part is you can also bring your dog!  Co Owner Eric Wallace was nice enough to answer my 5 questions.

Me: When did you guys start?

Eric: We were founded in 2012. We got our start here in the Palisades Mill in a smaller space and now we’re at the point where we’re ready to expand to a bigger space.

Me: Do you have a flagship beer?

Eric: Right now our flagships are Rise (an American Pale Ale), East Coast IPA, and the Blockstar for the summer which is nice ginger wheat ale.

Me: How many different beers are you currently brewing?

Eric: We keep 6 beers on tap at the tap room at any given time… we usually swap out every couple weeks depending on what we have in stock. We do have upwards of 36 recipes that could be used at any given time.

Me: Where can we get your beer other than here in your brewery?

Eric: Right now we’re in 75 plus package stores and 100 plus restaurants.

Me: What are your plans for the future?

Eric: Expanding into Massachusetts and Connecticut ideally by the end of this year… and we’re moving into our new lager space here at the mill hopefully this summer. Also we are getting six new 40 gallon fermenters in to expand production… we’re just going to keep growing as fast as we can.

Whalers Brewery is definitely one of the cooler breweries i’ve been to in New England and definitely worth the trip if you live in the Providence area. O yea… you can also have food delivered from a host of local restaurants so you won’t starve. Be sure to check these guys out!
